The reunion of Masha and the Bears

Masha and the Bears is back in it's original composition, has given a solo concert, and written a new album.

The group "Masha and the Bears" has not been audible for 5 years, but with their last vein occured the awakening - the boys are back playing together again.
The record of their new album is a mile stone. About their wanderings and findings have we recently talked to Masha Makarova.

Masha strayed in the forest and came across a cottage, the home of the bear family.
She digested the porridge that was in her presence, complained about the softness of the beds, and after selecting the most convenient, fell asleep. She awoke, and hardly took her feet away from the den.
The fairy tale, as it seems in our unpredictable present, as it seems, has been supplemented with a new paradigm with a somewhat different continuation. Masha has returned to the bears!

"Masha and the bears" is one of the few musical collectivs that today does an attempt to break away from just being a "project".
When in the starfall of the year of 1999, the song "lyubochka" (album "solntseklesh(sunspot)") was steadily nailed to the upper lines of all hit parades, and when recently arrived a new bassist, Masha and bears" were received as just an amusing wonder as the memorable circus trick.
When one in the year 2000, in the movie "Brother-2" could hear the words "such a love will destroy peace"(the song "Earth" from the album "Where?", this was already tendentiously.
The last years has Masha matured and entered into motherhood, giving birth to two daughters Mira(Peace) and Roza(Rose).
The music became, as the face of their children's surgeon - very good with this tender work.

-Now from the stage have you made some crazy sounds and rhytms utilizing your lips and breeth. What was this?
-What you heard is called Bit-Box. It is in the essence the same like power breathing, just more interesting and merrier. There are boys who lives the Bit-box way, like skaters ans rollerbladers. They are breething like that always.
I like bicycle sports and city bicycles, and due to that wanted to try some of these vocal excersises, and it was cool.

-Masha, what did you "stumbled" about 5 years ago, when the group broke apart?
-I did not stumble, I just chose to go my own way, that sometimes consists of a subset of different paths. And one might walk that way in a sudden fashion, like one can find one self suddenly in four different rooms. We are all probably a kind of patients, and I first of all.
Although in me now speaks a special feeling, that all people are in it's own way sick, and there is probably a kind of neglect in it with all. I can only speak for myself, and that kind of neglect is within me. I am trying to become more whole, and correct my unsuficcienties.
For me is that what life is given for. You might have the same piece, and it might be that, eventhough I know nothing about you, you might be a purer person then I am. And I am just a person that is stribing after improving myself. And due to that every answer to that question might show up to be imprecise and differing.

-But how does that affects man in the daily life?
-One need to know, with whome one might trust. Elderly people in example. They live both in big cities and in the Caucasus. They can be entrusted, because they have lived long, and in this life becomes everything controlled of time.

-All of the truths around Masha known almost noone. Only the obvious facts are known, like your interest for India, the exit from Masha and the Bears, your staying with children in the village, but noone knows where you was born and where you studied?
-We clear away our personal stories. We consciously try to erase the surrounding facts of personal biography. We burn all bridges, chop off the ends of the ropes, because there is no turning back. On the past is it not possible to expend force, one cannot live in it.
We are found here and now, we work with this given moment of reality and look only forward.


-When did you started to sing?
-Today?
-No today is it obvious that you started to sing in the morning, but generally?
-Also in the morning.

-What will your new album be about?
-About how the transition was, about how I has changed in the last tree years living outside of the musical sphere. This album is such an underground crossing. Everything around it is new now. The lyrics for the record was written in the past. We together with the Bears decided not to touch the past. I have already written these lyrics, and do not wish to return back, do not wish to think about them.

-But you do again and again pronounce the text of the songs from the scene?
-I view the songs like packages of seed, they live their own life, and every song can be dangerous. I look them into the eyes, and thus means, I look into the eyes of my fears.

-Do you add yourself to any kind of generation?
- Generation. Generation. Generation. Generation. I do not understand this word "generation". You want me to understand it. This question you, probably pose specially in order to drive my mind into the trap. I attempt to look into myself, and here you roll.

-You have lived both in India and at the Russian countryside. If someone asked you for the advice, where to go in order to rest and clear oneself out, what would you answer?
-That would depend on the person that approached? For every answer is it's time, it's moment.

-And if I approached?
-You? -And what kind of journey would you suggest to me? We don't debate the question "if". Indeed what difference would it make out then to answer; in the end will it be received like "nevertheless", 50 to 50, or "to fifti-fifti". If we speak about me, then this time I would go to the Russian countryside, in India have I already been. Although if India was proposed, would I not refuse. It cannot be been torn into two parts; therefore I will await the moment, when the "Russian village" moves to India.

-What does money mean to you?
-Money is what helps me to learn to economize energy. Energy, about which I know know even less about than money.

-You have very psychologicals lyrics. Don't they move the music to a different level?
-Yes, we had a recording today, and I was exactly thinking about that.
In my view, this is the purely Russian tradition, when in the songs voice, words, sense of text enters into the first level. It more greatly pleases me, when music and voice sounds in the balance of each other. It is necessary to see this side of it. And exactly in order to maintain harmony and to make the sound qualitative have we invited European Sound- producers.

-It seems like you judged by your temper would fit well into boxing?
-I have recently started to study the art of boxing, but I will not speach much of this now, since I frequently drop off how it begun.

-But you don't neglect the music?
-Music is like an irreplaceable crystal. Without it would the whole scheme be ruined...
